The Arab Foundation for Freedoms and Equality and the Institute of War and Piece Reporting and Mesahat Foundation for Sexual and Gender Diversity would like to invite interested candidates to apply to attend a “Workshop for Journalists on LGBT reporting.”. The training will take place on 06-08 September 2019. The training is part of Etihad Project, an initiative to improve the acceptance of LBGT rights in the region through improved advocacy and non-biased media reporting.
The project is being implemented in 5 countries: Jordan, Tunisia, Algeria, Sudan and Lebanon.
The training will focus on the following topics:
– International and local laws on LGBT
– Non-biased reporting
– Overcoming the language of fear
– Gender equality and diversity
– Protection of human rights through non-biased coverage
Participants will be required to produce 2-3 and publish articles covering issues related to LGBT rights after the training and share them with the project.
Journalists who wish to attend the workshop are requested to submit their applications no later than July 21, 2019 at 12:00pm.
