As part of the International Aids Conference, The M-Coalition was officially launched and presented to the International community in a big ceremony at the Clarendon room D&E followed by a series of sessions/interventions across the global village.

Hosted by the Arab Foundation of Freedom and Equality (AFE), the M-Coalition is a unique advocacy platform aiming to coordinate on local, regional and international levels in order to facilitate the access of Men who have Sex with Men (MSM) to, services of prevention, care, treatment and quality support through advocacy, creation of a favorable environment, capacity building and follow-up, research, exchange of good practices and, by collaborating with other structures of health and human rights as well as relevant key policy makers.

According to Johnny Tohme, the executive director of M-Coalition :“At this key moment where the end of the HIV epidemic is potentially within reach, we have committed to increase our efforts envisioning an Arab world where right to health and all other human rights of MSM and are recognized, realized and protected“

With the support from the Global Forum on MSM & HIV (MSMGF) a number of civil society advocates and service providers from the Arab region gathered in Lebanon on January 2014 then in Tunisia on May 2014 to discuss the future of the HIV work among (MSM) in the region, giving that current response is not efficiently keeping the epidemic from dramatically increasing among this key population.
