Founded early January 2014 under the auspices of the Arab Foundation for Freedoms and Equality (AFE), M-Coalition is the first initiative gathering HIV and MSM advocates in the Arab World.
The M-Coalition works to ensure an effective response to the rapidly escalating HIV epidemic among men who have sex with men (MSM) in the Arab world, including the consequent support, treatment and care needs of HIV-positive MSM. The M-Coalition accomplishes this through advocacy, information exchange, knowledge production, networking, and capacity building activities, sustained over time at the local and regional level. The M-Coalition also strives to involve MSM and MSM living with HIV at all levels of its strategy, policy development and implementation, and internal governing processes.
M-powerment is 5 year project with a primary goal is to lower HIV risk and improve sexual health and identity affirmation among Young Men who have Sex with Men by building community norms and support for safer sex, HIV testing and feeling good about one’s sexuality.
It’s a Multi-level program that seeks to provide YMSM with skills, support and confidence to find solutions within themselves for sexual health, and seeks to affirm the validity and rights of same-sex behavior and identities
